George Foreman GR59A Baby George Rotisserie

Grocery-store rotisserie chicken at home, your way
This is a nice compact rotisserie, carrying that Foreman name and cachet, meaning good low-fat grilling or roasting. A rotisserie has an advantage over ovens and contact grills in that it uses radiant heat to evenly roast your food. The results are juicy and tender, with that wonderful crust that only air and radiant heat can produce. But is the Baby George all it's advertised to be?

Yes and no is the ambivalent answer. The Baby George is advertised to hold a five-pound roast or bird, and this is really NOT true, in my experience. Unless your five pound roast is very compact and not terribly WIDE, it will strike the front of the oven cover as it turns on the spit. That prevents the motor from turning the roast, and since the heating element (a simple exposed coil in back) is only on the back side, your roast can't cook properly.

For under five pound roasts, the rotisserie works well. To roast a pork roast or chicken, you use the spit. The spit is in two parts: a spike and plate...

Great deal in a Rotisserie
I have been watching the infomercial on the Showtime Rotisserie for months and almost bought one.

I have recently read many complaints and problems with the Showtime Rotisserie on the Internet such as some fires in the unit , improper cooking of the food and many mechanical breakdowns and cleaning difficulties, and decided against it. Then I found the George Foreman Model and since I already own a George Foreman Grilling Maching that I constantly use and that has been trouble free after years of constant use, I decided to buy the George Foreman Rotisserie. Since I am single and have a small kitchen, this Baby model is the perfect size. I was worried about the heat, on my small counter due to many comments about the Showtime Rotisserie requiring a big area due to the excessive heat it develops. I cooked a 4 pound chicken in the Baby Rotisserie and had no problem with excessive heat. It is very well designed and vents out the top. The chicken was fantastic and the unit...

Yummy food, but a pain in the neck to clean
I definitely have not used the oven since I got the rotisserie, food with a lot of fat or skin comes out amazingly delicious. Dont bother with fat free foods, you'll just dry them out and waste money. Dont do pork chops either. The unit comes apart easily for cleaning, but its a pain to scrub the wire basket - take out stock in Brillo pads! Also, the metal back wall that slides out gets stains like watermarks even when it is clean, it never will look shiny new again no matter how clean. The white on the unit is yellowing from the heat, and my turn knob broke off from the heat as well - I had the unit about 2 inches from my toaster oven on the right side and it contained too much heat outside the unit. It is also difficult to clean the upper insides of the unit, since you cannot remove it. Did I mention it makes a mean chicken wings dinner (just dont put them on top of eachother in the basket). Also, dont cook meat as long as the time recommended in the booklet, the small size...

Lasko 6410 Designer Series Oscillating Ceramic Heater

What a relief.
I started out with a little Holmes heater that was $5 cheaper that i got from wal-mart, but the thing was horrible, took forever to heat up a little room even.

I was skeptical of something that looked decent, and assumed it wouldn't perform all that great... but boy was i surprised.

Heats up real quick, nice auto temp set of 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, and 'Max'.. along with manual settings, and oscillating that creates no more noise than the heater does, which is minimal for a space heater. Also has 4, 2, and 1 hr timers on it.

Only downsides, it beeps loud like a microwave with every button you touch, which gets annoying, and it would be nice if they made space heaters with 24 hour timers on them, to plan heating for when i wake up, but none of the kind exist.

Great buy, i think it was 40ish from wal-mart, very happy with it.

Great heater and attractive design
Very happy with this purchase. I previously owned the Lasko 755320 Tower Heater with Remote. That one lasted about 5 years and when it was time to replace it, I purchased this one, Lakso 6410.
The reasons I got this one instead is that for me personally, I found the remote unnecessary and never used it.
This one heats just as well as the Lasko Tower with Remote, takes up less space, more attractive design and cost less.
Many people have ask questions regarding increase in electric bill. I have found that if you do not use the oscillating function you will not see much of an increase in your electric bill.
But with using the oscillating function you will see a bigger increase in electric bill. Not sure why it cost so much more to oscillate but that has been my experience.
Basically when running this heater my gas bill has decreased by 70.00 and electric has increased 20.00.
So overall it saves me about 50.00/month. But it not only saves me money every...

Excellent investment!
After receiving a gas bills of around $250 for two months in a row (and I live in Houston, TX, not in some ultra-cold climate), I decided I needed to do something about the drafts in my house besides just turning up the heat. I researched a number of small electric heaters and finally decided on this one. I have now been using it for about 3 weeks, and even though I haven't received my new gas bill, I am quite sure it will be substantially lower because I've been able to keep the house thermostat low while just using this heater to warm the room I'm in.

Here is what I LOVE about this heater:

* Design - it is nice to have something that it attractive sitting in your living room, rather than a plain white or silver tower. Plus, it's fairly small and lightweight, and so it's easy to take from room to room.
* Thermostat - this is my absolute favorite part of it. I just set it to the temp I want my room kept, and it will turn itself on and off as needed. I use...

Cuisinart DCC-2000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Brushed Metal

Didn't need, but had to have! Love it!
I have a perfectly good Cuisinart DCC-1200, but after spotting the 2000 at a local store I couldn't stop fiddling with the floor model. Well, my wife was lurking as I was fiddling and with my birthday coming up - and my affinity for coffee - she thought she'd found the perfect gift. Boy was she was right!

Now let's be honest, carafe-less designs have been around forever - Farberware's stainless steel coffee pots are staples in offices and at parties - they just haven't been this much fun. I'm not going to repeat everything that's already been written, but suffice to say the 2000 is a unique coffee maker. Does it make coffee better than my 1200 did? No, not really. But it does keep it hot longer, without the bitter, burnt taste that would often accompany the coffee from my 1200 when left on the warming plate for over 30 minutes. I normally have two cups every morning (not the puny 5-ounce "cups" that every coffee maker seems to think is the norm for whatever reason), but...

Great machine.....please read
This is really a great coffee maker. The negative reviews all seem to be fixated on the fact that you have to pour water into the reservoir, and the unit doesn't come with a container for this purpose!! Is Cuisinart the Devil? Should I call my lawyer and file a class action suit? What is wrong with people today? Is is really that difficult to procure a plastic pitcher of some sort, fill it with water and then transfer that water into the coffee maker? I think not, and I do it one or two time a day myself without covering my kitchen counters with water. If you are not able to pour water from a pitcher into the reservoir of a coffee machine, I really do not think that you should be trusted with a hot cup of coffee either.

The coffee tastes great, never burnt. It is easy to program and clean and does not take up a whole lot of room. It also comes with one of those re-usable, permanent gold filters which many companies sell separately for about $20. My girlfriend...

Expensive coffee maker for only 1 year use
Cuisinart has known problem with this coffee maker. The lid builds up condensation and when you open it, it runs down the back and eventually your timer/brewing mechanism will go out. Multiple reviews have had the same problem. Granted, when I called Cuisinart, they are willing to replace it. (Immediately reached a customer service rep on a Sunday afternoon). But I have to pay the shipping out and include a $10 check for return shipping, and in the meantime, I am a month without a coffee maker.

Oh... and by the way, the customer service rep was immediately aware of the problem, so it is a known problem to Cuisinart as well. When I asked the customer service rep if I could replace this machine with a different machine since it is a known defect, she said no, you can only replace like machine for like machine. I guess your only hope is they will discontinue the product.

If you are unfortunate like me and only read this review after you have already purchased...

Emerson RCK55 Six-Speed Full-Function Horseshoe Receiver for Emerson K55XL Motor Ceiling Fans

Emerson Receiver Instructions Need a Re-write
The product is great and the delivery was timely. The manufacturer (Emerson) needs to improve on the installation
instructions. For example, a reverse flow box was included in the kit for use on some fan models but no instructions
or explanation was included. I was able to figure it out but some customers will be confused.

Easy to connect to an Emerson fan.......
But you have to take the fan apart to hook up the reverse module (if your fan has that option, or if you want to enable that option)

Does the job for fans that are out of reach.
This works exactly as advertised. You can control the fan and light from a distance. Use with SW605 Wall Control Unit.

Whirlpool Part Number 2206671W: Grille, Overflow (White)

It fits! Looks so much better.
It fits and looks so much better than the original crusty, rusty, discolored one. But we have to be vigilant to wipe up any drops immediately, or we will have the same buildup from our hard water again (that doesn't come off!)

Facelift for my fridge
Just what I needed to freshen up my freezer door drip pan after years of hard water stains. Great price and fast shipping and I don't have to spend hundreds just for aesthetics

I needed this to replace my old one from 10 yrs ago when I bought the fridge. The quality is so so but it serves the purpose. Maybe it's in my mind but I feel the original one might be heavier/thicker.

Great Product
Went right up without a hitch and the fan ran smoothly. The only thing I wished it had was four lights instead of three.... but that is just me.

Broan QT230WW 30-Inch Convertible Range Hood, White on White

Much quieter than my old one, but....
This unit arrived in good order and quickly. I only wished a better models looked this good, By better, I mean that the light switch doesn't work properly and i need to get new switch. It groans when I initially turn on the unit when it goes from high setting to low setting. I need to start it on low and slowly bring it up to the desired speed and on high, it might take a couple of minurs to settle down then it might take a couple of adjustmens for unit to find it's "groove." After that, and after the light switch finds a spot to settle in on the low setting, I can cook without irritation. Also, it is smaller in the rear of the unit than the front, but i don't find that much of a problem. I also had to take the little black grill off the front and although it has a small plastic solid shield, it still leaked a lot out the front of this vented installation, so I used black Gorilla Tape over the hole, replaced the grill and trimmed the tape. The light fixture doesn't accomodate bulbs...

Looks great, but has annoying 'buzz'
Just got this range hood (branded as a 'Kenmore', but looks exactly the same)...

Pros:
-variable speed fan (not just low and high speed)
-good looks
-strong enough to move some air on high

Cons:
-Really annoying buzz from the motor (tranformer?) at any speed.
(we had a more expensive model that didn't fit, and that motor was perfectly quiet on low...although it only had high and low speed, and the high speed sounded like a jet engine)

The noise is a bummer, other than that, it's good.

Looks better than it sounds
The unit looks great: stainless steel and black. The installation instructions describes this hood as the "Quiet Hood". It is anything but. When the fan starts up, it has a tinny, raspy quality about it that surprises you, like it is made of thin metal. We installed the fan with a rear, rectangular vent. The baffle plate appears to leak air through the front grill. We like the "night light" feature, and the full strength light is quite adequate.

Whirlpool 3394652 Belt

Belt is wrong size for part number listed
The description above for this part lists it as a whirlpool part# 3394652, it is not. I bought this belt, and it is a 90 inch belt.
the whirlpool part# 3394652, and kenmore part# 345675 is a 79 inch belt. If you are wanting either of these part numbers, DO NOT ORDER THIS BELT!

The right part at the right price
I initially tried to get this belt from Sears, for my Kenmore dryer manufactured by Whirlpool. They said it would take two weeks and would cost a fair amount more than I got it on Amazon. It arrived quicker than promised when I placed the order and the part is just right.

GE Stove Burner Surface Element WB30X359

Non GE Part had neither the fit or function
The item(s) received matched neither the picture nor the descripton of a Genuine GE Calrod stove top element. The item would not install correctly and, in fact, fell through the outer trim ring. In addition, the hinge mechanism that is supposed to stay in the up position for cleaning, would not. This inferior part simply does not measure up to the standards of the original GE part in any way and, in fact, is unsafe when cooking.GE Stove Burner Surface Element WB30X359

Great deal!
Bought this for half the price local appliance parts store wanted. It was easy to install. I did it myself and I'm a grandmother with no appliance repair background. Shipping was fast, item just as described. Would use this seller again without hesitation.

Electrically ok, mechanically poor
Item received was not as shown in seller's posting. Picture shown is a Calrod/GE unit where the one received appears to be a generic unit (no markings on center hub). Element functions ok electrically but will not mount level. Also, locking hinge mechanism does not lock and is very loose causing the support ears to slide off of trim ring. This happens whenever being used. It is very annoying when you are cooking and the pot shifts downward on one side when a support ear slides off the chrome trim ring.

Porcelain Touch-up 1999 (Black)

Fills in the chip
The material arrived very quickly. The directions were a little sketchy, if this is used on a stovetop or anyplace exposed to cooking grease make sure you clean the spot thouroughly w/ soap & water & then rubbing alcohol. If you prepare the surface properly the repair is as good as can be expected for a spot repair using a brush & the material will not scrub / flake off.

Porcelain paint
I really liked the way you are able to apply it (bottle with brush) , but I didn't really feel it blended very well and stood out to much after it was applied/dry.

Very happy
At first I wasn't sure, but now I don't even notice the chip repair and my stove top looks like new

ANTON Ultrasonic Humidifier - White

Decent product
Pros:
1. Stylish: arguably the best looking humidifier available to US consumers;
2. Cool mist (versus hot mist), doesn't heat up the room.

Cons:
1. It produces a plasticky smell. I have used it about 5 times, and the smell still exists. I am not sure if bc it's new. It's not noticeable if you are in the other side of the room, but definitely can tell if you are near the machine.
2. Expensive initial cost, and cartridge/filters extra.

Other Comments:
1. Mist falls because it's cool (versus hot air rises). I am not sure if this makes the mist less effective if you place the machine low.
2. It's quiet, but not silent. We are used to sleep in silent rooms, and the continuous hissing is bothersome.

Doesn't work
I don't know what the problem is, but this humidifier will not stay on. When we turn it on, it starts producing "steam". You can actually see it come out. Then a few minutes later, it stops. It won't go on when we push the button again. But if we leave it for hours, we can get it to go on again, but just for a short time. And it's not that the room has reached some level of humidity. We live in the desert. We are sending it back. I don't know if it's just this unit or if I should try a completely different brand but we are not happy at all. I will add that I was able to return it easily for a full refund without having to pay for shipping. Thanks for that.

Great humidifier and easy to care for
It sends out a nice mist, is easy to clean, and so far after near continuous use for the last 5 months, I haven't needed to replace the filter. And I have hard water.

The only complaint I have it that I keep thinking that the top handle, where you lift off the water tank, is a handle for picking up the whole humidifier. Oops! Otherwise, great design and quiet, too.

I also like how you can turn the lights off.

Oster BVST-TM23 2-1/2-Quart Iced-Tea Maker, Black

Loved it when it would WORK!
I was looking for an ice tea maker with a glass pitcher. Liked the way this one looked. Bought one, worked fine for a few days, then it wouldn't turn on any more. The on button would fail to 'click' and light up, as it had before. Nothing. Thinking maybe I had gotten a lemon, decided to try a replacement since as I mentioned in the title, I really liked it, when it WORKED.

Got the second one, very quickly. I've had it for a few days now. Made about 4 or 5 batches of tea with it. I went to make another one just now and...nothing. It won't turn on just like the first one. I don't know for sure, but I suspect it may have something to do with the automatic shutoff feature. I've tried unplugging and replugging it, but it made no difference, with either one. There is nothing in the instructions to address this. I'm going to call the help center, to see if there's ANYTHING I could be doing different, seeing how it's two of these now that have done this, but at this...

Stopped Working After First Try
As with the other reviews, my unit stopped working after the first use. The start button doesn't work. This is unfortunate since I like the look of this Ice Tea Maker. I called Oster and they mentioned that they have no knowledge of any issues with this product. I find that hard to believe since others who have reviewed this product have also called the company with this issue. So, in addition to making a poor product I also question their honesty.

two ordered none worked
I ordered two of these tea makers. They looked good and cycled through the cleaning cycle. That was the last time either of them would power on.

Viante CUC-04E Electronic Toaster Oven with True Blue Enameled Interior

A high quality small toaster oven.
This toaster oven is designed for small apartments. It is only 15 inches wide and consumes only 1350 watts. A standard 15 amp circuit maxes out at 120X15=1800 watts, so this toaster oven lets you plug another appliance into the other electrical receptacle on a standard wall outlet. Other toaster ovens on the market consume 1800 watts and so require a dedicated circuit and they are typically 20" wide and so use up more precious counter space.

This oven has 2 rack height positions: center and high. For even browning of toast on both sides, the center position should be used because this puts the bread equidistant from upper and lower heating elements. Putting the rack in the high position will result in toast that is burned on top and not toasted on the bottom.

The low power consumption means food will take longer to cook but that is not the whole story. It takes time for heat to penetrate food so the longer cooking time results in food that is warm...

scary...
I bought this item from chefscatalog.com approx 6 months ago. The unit worked perfectly for a while but recently started malfunctioning by turning itself on randomly. Sometimes during operation the unit will turn itself off or restart completely. Initially, we didn't believe the issue to be chronic until the babysitter informed us that she smelled something burning and noticed the toaster was on without anyone operating it. Everyone in the household was watching a movie; no one was operating the toaster. Last week, I woke up at 3:00 am to hear the toaster "beeping" telling us that it completed its toasting cycle. Given the obvious fire hazard we keep the unit unplugged. I've contacted Viante for a warranty claim and left a message given that no one answered the phone at 10:30 on a workday. We'll see how they respond.

Great toaster oven
I almost didn't order this toaster oven because of reviews sure glad I did. I have had it for about a month. This is a very small footprint unit 15" wide and 8" high with convection, don't expect a blast of air it has a fan inside and will make
everything very crisp. The review about toast taking four minutes is correct, this is a oven not a toaster with different heating element four rods not wire and take longer to heat up but will toast perfectly (duh) Most convection ovens are huge
and take up a lot of counter space 20" wide and more. If your cooking for 1, 2 or even 3 this is your oven. If your cooking for 4 or more buy a bigger one. Controls are very easy to use, pan and broil pan are heavy metal, not cheap light aluminum.

Medi-Fridge Micro Refrigerator

The Good, Bad and Ugly
The Good:

The materials are excellent quality. The device has space for six vials of insulin which is plenty. It is March and I haven't used the device in hot weather, but the insulin has been kept cool. The operative word is cool not cold. Ambient temperatures are in high 60's and insulin is at mid-50's temperature. I wonder whether it will work in hot weather.
The power supply will work worldwide, and there is an adapter that runs in an automotive cigar lighter socket.

The Bad:

The device is noisy. I can't sleep with it in the room. It is really noisy. And it never shuts off. It runs 24 hours a day no matter what the external temperature. The device is rated at 15 Watts. This is a lot of power for so little cooling.

The Ugly:

The plastic and construction is good quality, but it looks like an expensive coffin. Somebody has a sense of (sick) humor and flaunts that diabetics will die early. The designers of this device don't...

General Electric WX60X1 COMPACTOR BAGS - great!
Updated review: purchased these over 6 months ago and have been using them since I received the bags. I have to say I am really pleased with the durability of these bags.

I use my compactor for aluminum can crushing and recycling. The bags I used before would rip without fail every time I tried to remove it causing multiple cuts on my hands and arms - even with leather gloves. Not to mention the time wasted by rebagging crushed cans just to take them to the recycle center to be emptied into the bin. These bags are excellent for my needs and have eliminated the lost time and cuts experienced when rebagging had to be done.

Metro Vacuum AM6BS Professional Stainless Steel Look 12V High Performance Hand Vac

High ? performance
I got this rather than the 115 v model since I'd either have to run a long extension cord from my apartment to the parking lot or use a DC to AC converter to run it. I thought that the 12 v should give adequate power and might be better than one of the rechargeable models. Well, I was wrong. The vacuum is barely adequate to use in the car. I like the hose and the long crevice tool to get down along the seats, but picking up anything more than dust and such won't get sucked up by this unit. I then ordered the Shark rechargeable with the brush attachment and find it much more powerful and useful. Now if they would just add two inches to the length of the crevice tool, it would reach between the seat and the door jamb. I may keep the Metropolitan for light duty use, but it was definitely a disappointment especially at the cost. Maybe the 115 v model works better?

Loose dirt, no problem
Its ok, but of course you won't get any strong suction. It will pick up sand, dirt and maybe a found French fry.
I would not buy it again though.

I'll Let You Know In 20 Years.
I had an old Black and Decker car vac. that died after 20 years of use. That one was a great one. This one is turning out to a good one also. I hope it lasts that long. The extra tools help car vacuuming easier.

Dirt Devil UD40285 Featherlite Bagless Upright

Awesome!
Is it too much to ask for a vacuum to pick up stray pieces of paper, not to spit dirt out the back, and be light? This one fits the bill. I owned a dirt devil featherlite 9 years ago but after my husband touched it after 8 years, it didn't suck much anymore. Up till then it worked great. So I bought a vacuum that cost triple this vacuum thinking more expensive so it should be a wonderful vacuum. NOT! It didn't work well at all. Wouldn't pick up papers and kept shredding paper over the carpet, wouldn't suck it up. It also kept spitting dirt out the back on hard floors, or at least every direction except up the canister. I had a herniated disc for 10 months, every time I used the expensive vacuum, it was so heavy and bulky it kept throwing my back out more and kept me down for a week in pain. I was so happy to see kohl's had the new improved version of my old featherlite. It works as good if not better than the last one I had. It sucks really well. I have fun watching the dirt starting...

Fantastic
We live in 38' fifth wheel trailer. Could not believe how much dirt was present in rugs until we used this great sweeper. This was after cleaning with Oreck. Easy storage, great price, can't praise it enough.

Poorly designed
It was not the most expensive machine but I still find the overall design quality lacking and ease of emptying debris and cleaning filter to be extremely cumbersome, messy and time consuming. Huge negative as I have two cats and I pick up a lot of fur so the filter needs cleaning often. I HATE handling and having to wash out the filter every other time I use the machine. The tools seem cheap and fall out of their holders often. I can't stand how the stretchy hose likes to pull back when extended to use the tools. The air powered brush tool is also a joke. The brush stops spinning with the slightest bit of pressure on any surface. It is light, compact and seems to have descent suction after about 6 months of use but the issue of emptying dirt out and cleaning the filter is causing me to have to purchase another filter so I can rotate them when I need to wash one out and let it dry. That being said, you get what you pay for. I would say it's okay especially if you have a small...

Minka Aire F572-ORB Sundance 42 in. Outdoor Ceiling Fan - Oil Rubbed Bronze

Good Fan!
I have a electrical contracting company and have been doing electrical for 32 years and have put up hundreds of ceiling fans for customers. This fan I bought for our front porch. Along with the fan I installed the remote control. The fan itself is made well and is one of better fans I've put up. I can always tell after I've installed the fan and turn it on how well the fan it made just by looking at the wobble. This fan had no wobble, it tracked perfectly and I didn't have to mess with weights to get it back in balance which usually never works. To me this shows the manufacturer has taken the time to make sure every blade and blade holder is perfect. Only time will tell on how reliable it is but so far it's two thumbs up.

I thought that teeth on the top lid would be plastic like the clear window, but they were actually aluminum and seem to be pretty securely attached. it also came with a little guitar pick for a scoop. a little tough to fit my fat fingers deep down in it but nice to have the extra storage. definitely not air tight.

Waring DHR20 525-Watt 5-Tray Food Dehydrator

Takes forever,,,,, but...
It makes great beef jerky, dried eggplant, carrots, fruit etc.. I make sure the lid is closed (no holes) and it takes about 8 hours for three racks of food to dry. Powerful, quiet. Ordered with Marys complete dehydrator cookbook, great book for people just getting started and those who didn't know eggs and milk (and other cool stuff) can be dehydrated. Looking forward to healthy snacks for some time to come. I love the trick of dipping fruit and veggies in o.j. or lemon juice so they don't shrivel or get brown from oxidation. working on making leather or fruit roll ups with applesauce and yogurt, cant wait! great kitchen tool, to use extra food from dinner and snacks. Doggies love the jerky as well as the man!

Not what I was hoping for
I'm sure this dehydrator would be fine for simple things like making fruit roll ups or beef jerky, but I tried to make kale chips with it and it doesn't have enough height on each layer to accommodate the kale, it felt like I was squishing it. And there is no way to make more room because the trays are all stacked up on each other. Also, note that the temperature settings are low, med, high. There is no way to set a specific temperature.

satisfied
Works great for beef jerky and easy to clean, the air circulation is the only issue. You have to rotate the trays quite a bit during drying but for the price, its not a big deal.

Black & Decker PHV1800CB 18-Volt Pivoting-Nose Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Great product at a great price
When our Shark went on the blink for the third time we decided it was time to get serious about a decent handheld vacuum. We own a Dyson full size vacuum so I naturally did my research presuming that the right answer was to get the Dyson cordless as well. However when I compared the reviews (some good, some not so good) to the price it gave me some heartburn so I decided to look around. Glad I did.

I did not have high expectations for this product. By and large I find the Black & Decker brand to be a decent value for the money, but not necessarily great quality. This product changed my opinion. It's very well made, with solid construction and an intriguing design. Those factors are very important to me, but it's a vacuum, so if it doesn't suck none of those factors matter much. Boy, does this thing suck! It's a bit noisy, but when you consider the amount of suction it creates it's little wonder that you can hear it so well. So far, everything I have used it for has been...

Best Hand Vac Ever
I bought this hand vac after Consumer Reports rated it as one of the best products for the year. I am so glad I did. Best vacuum product we have ever owned, hands down. Picks up anything with ease, and has a long lasting charge. I have three kids and I use this daily to pick up everything on our floor, including large pieces of food. It grabs everything. So easy to get in those crevices as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE this product, and I never write reviews. Trust me.

A lot of SUCTION
We wanted to replace our aged Black and Decker handheld vac with something that would go longer and pickup more dirt. This vacuum is a little loud, but it really works. And you can clean it out fairly easily without having to grab the dirty filter all the time, like with the dustbuster style vacs. I would recommend it. While it says it can be wall mounted, I find the stand it is on works best freestanding. This thing would look weird and stick out too far on the wall.

Hamilton Beach 70596 Big Mouth Food Processor, Black

Improved on Perfection
I owned one of the first HB Big Mouths ... it came time to get another ( I cracked the bowl ) This version is wonderful all the blades store inside , the chopping blade is lower and can chop smaller amounts . The power is amazing. The suction cups on the bottom hold it in place but don't require a weight lifting belt to get it free from the counter , like the first version did. I gave away my new KitchenAid in favor of this product , the KitchenAid was damaged in one light use. I have a large family 7 kids , 2 parents , 2 employees and this Big Mouth can handle what ever I through at it.

I highly recommend this product.

Not so impressed...
We liked this much better then the garbage black n decker cheap one we bought 2 years ago, but the plastic hub that holds the top slicer stripped in 3 weeks of use on this.

The motor is strong, but putting hard foods like carrots in puts wear and tear on that hub very quickly. One turned sideways and wedged itself in the cutting blade jamming the machine, and the plastic hub stripped.

If it was metal there wouldn't be an issue, but stripping in 3 weeks is obviously a design flaw.

Rösle 16251 Food Mill/Passetout with 2 Disks

roesle food mill
Rosle Food Mill/Passetout with 2 Disks
This food mill is beautifully made and everything functions very smoothly. The machining and quality of the steel is excellent. The handle works very smoothly and it can be placed securely over a mixing bowl to work. It is typical of all the things this company makes: very high quality, esthetically pleasing, well-conceived and a bit expensive. To get a complete set of disks, you have to purchase the others separately, but the two that come with it are useful enough, depending on what it is used for. I hardly use the food processor any more, preferring more "primitive" but satisfying methods like this and mortar and pestle.

Easy to use and care for.
I bought my first one locally at William-Sonoma. I am very happy with its performance when making seedless jams. I have also had success with pumpkin for making pumpkin butters. I purchsed my second one for a gift here at amazon. Quick shippment and same great quality.

best for spaezle
I bought this with the 8mm sieve for spaezle. Work perfect, much better than any other spaezle maker or utensil I ever had.

BISSELL Cleanview Helix Plus Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 22C1

Didn't realize my carpet was that dirty!!!
UPDATE: I've vacuumed my apartment every other day since my last review. I am happy to say it's running as good today as it has the day I got it. It still picks up an amazing amount of dirt, and I have not had to change the HEPA media filter yet (although I can already see discoloration-I will probably by a reusable this May).

I received my Bissell 22C1 from Amazon today so my review will be my immediate views and I plan to update this once again later on this winter. As a quick background our household had 2 adults and a medium haired cat living in an apartment with white, poor quality carpet. We both suffer from allergies.

Assembly & Parts:

When the package first arrives it requires minimum assembly. The filters are all in the correct places already, and the one tool you need is a screwdriver to screw the vacuums handle onto the body. It took more time opening the boxes than it took to put the vacuum together. The cord is long enough to vacuum my...

5-star wonder!
A neighbor whose son has asthma recommended this when our old vacuum bit the dust, so to speak. The other had a filter that needed to be removed and cleaned after every use. These filters don't. The other had a dust cup much smaller than this one, so I'd have to empty it twice with each use. The tools are all on the vacuum, work wonderfully, and are arranged well. I used to hate using the hose and attachments, but I like doing it now!

OUTSTANDING
MY FIRST HAS LASTED 6 YEARS AND IS STILL GOING STRONG IN OUR LOWER LEVEL. NOW HAVE ONE FOR THE UPSTAIRS. YOU WONT FIND A BETTER BAGLESS VAC FOR PERFORMANCE AND VALUE.

Calphalon 12-c. Electrics Quick Brew Coffee Maker

Great Product !
I have always had a bunn coffee maker after 20 years of having it , I laid it to rest:( I bought a Calphalon quick brew love it .i have the calphalon pots and pans love them to I have had them for 10 years and they still look new .Calphalon to me is a great product , and it really is worth the money.

Great coffee maker!
I recently received my Calphalon coffee maker and have used it several times now. I love everything about this item. As a matter of fact, everything about usual coffee makers I don't like, it seems this item has addressed. Very user friendly, easy to operate, removable water reservoir for easy filling, large opening carafe for easy cleaning, very easy to operate, and when the coffee is done, no bunch of annoying beeps. Just one soft beep to let you know it's done. I'm seriously considering buying another one or two of these. Just because, well you know those great items manufacturers make and then stop selling for whatever reason? This is one of those items. I highly recommend this item if you can swing the extra money. Brews fast and good coffee, sleek stainless design, definitely love this coffee maker.

July 1st 2013
I have now had this coffee maker for some time now. My opinion of it has not changed and I still love it. Brews great tasting coffee and brews it quick...

Junk
I bought one of these and it worked great for approximately 4 months then quit. I returned it and assumed I just purchased a lemon and even exchanged it for a new one. Once again 4 months later it stopped working! If you are a smart shopper I would recommend any other coffee maker than this brand.

Steamfast SF-825WH Everyday Sweeper Steamer

Great product!
Pros: Extremely easy to assemble, great steamer, lightweight, fits under vanity and between toilet and wall (love that!) thick, washable pads, and competetive price.
Cons: Vacuum doesn't have a very strong suction, but it will pick some dust/dirt/hair. It also was a little hard to empty without spilling the dirt back on floor.

I previously owned a Haan vacuum/steamer, which has a better vacuum, but all the pros of this Steamfast make me like this better. The Haan pad tray also broke and wasn't replaceable (they said the model was discontinued), which is what prompted me to buy this one and I am glad I did!

Crane EE-6353 Space Heater 600/1200 Watt

Fabulous product!
I bought this heater for my 90 year old Dad. This product was easy for him to learn how to use. Especially love the safety features(turns off at overheating & turns off if tipped over). I was worried that my Dad wouldn't be able to move it from room to room but it was so lightweight that he enjoys it in every room. The oscillation is also a great feature because it heats up a larger area. I was very pleased with how quickly the product was delivered. All in all - it is wonderful & I thank Amazon for the speedy service.

All nice, a bit LOUD
It works fine as a heater, with nice slim design and buttons.
But it's a bit louder than I thought it'd be!!
I even phoned them to check if I this is normal and they admitted that they make some sound, unlike their humidifier.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep with it on.
I might return it after few days, depends on how well it warms up the room.....

Stylish, functional heater.
Very capable medium sized heater. It was able to heat up my medium sized room to 70 degrees within 30 minutes while on the low setting. I live in Boston, and the electric heating bills during the winter months are ridiculous. So, I'm hoping this heater can keep my room warm at a reasonable rate as compared to my electric baseboards. The heater, has an excellent, easy to use touch sensitive display and looks very sleek.

Nordic Pure 20x25x5HM15+C-1 Honeywell Replacement MERV 15 Plus Carbon AC Furnace Air Filters, Qty 1

Effective but adds some resistance
I've been using this filter for a few weeks now and I feel like I can tell a pretty big difference in overall air quality. My allergies bother me less and I definitely see a reduction in dust. I should preface that by mentioning that I had my entire HVAC system replaced just before installing this filter (the old system only had room for a 1 or 2 inch filter, I upgraded to a 5 inch when I had the new HVAC installed) so that could play a role, as well. Additionally, I had a much larger UV light installed than I previously had--neither were Ozone producing lights--which may or may not be helping with allergies.

My home also seems to smell fresher but it never smelled bad to begin with, so that's hard to truly discern. What is easy to discern is the visual aspect of how the filter is performing! It's definitely picking up a great deal of stuff that my previous filter (Filtrete 2400) apparently didn't. It was close to white after a month or two (the first one was dirtier)...

General Electric WH41X10163 Drain Hose

Good Fit
We found this rubber connector to be the source of the leak after opening the front panel of the wash machine. Bought it at night, and got it 2 days later. It fits very well, and no problem so far.

Exactly the part I needed; great price.
Really enjoyed having the convenience of the part I needed without having to pay high prices at an authorized local dealer.

Washer Drain Hose
We bought a used washer for our sons who are roommates and when my husband got it all hooked up, he found it was leaking. After a little investigating, he found it to be the drain hose. So, I went online and found the part number and, as usual, found the part at Amazon for the best price. The part went on easily, fit well, and the boys have been using their washer for months with no more leaks. A washer repaired for less than ten dollars!! Very pleased with this purchase!

General Electric GFC530V 1/2 Horsepower Deluxe Continuous Feed Disposall Extra-Large Capacity Food Waste Disposer, Black

Easy to install.
My husband actually installed it and didn't have any problems. Make sure you get the power cord though. It works well, though it seems we have to use it more often than our old one that was the same horsepower. Even when just rinsing dishes it seems like it backs up with water...not a big deal though cause one quick flip of the switch and it goes down.

Cheaply Manufactured Piece Of Junk
I was surprised by how cheaply this thing was made:
*shoddy plastic sink flange
*non-standard-size stopper with a rubber outer ring so paper-thin that actually stopping water from draining using it would require some kind of miracle. (However, good luck running down to the hardware store to replace it with a better one - it's roughly 1/4 inch smaller than every other drain stopper made.)
*a full 2 1/2" worth of wire you get to try to wire it into the house's electrical system. (If you have an under-sink outlet, you can get a power cord for an additional charge. Don't bother looking in the box - it's not in there.)
*the bracket that holds the discharge elbow onto the side of the disposer is about 1/8" too wide so that, if you tighten it fully, you actually end up causing a leak. (In all fairness, the manual says that the "Discharge elbow must be installed by a professional" so, apparently at that point in installing the thing, you are then expected to call a...

Poor Product Quality
If your disposal is as old as mine was then finding a model that is similar is going to be a challenge for any DIY. Model height, drain hole placement and electrical connection are not always located in the same position as the old disposal you're going to replace. Even ordering online for a replacement is a real challenge if you don't know what you're looking for. The two most popular home DIY centers such as Lowes and Home Depot does offer similar disposal but you need to measure first and as an added measure take a photo of the bad one for reference "It's nothing like measure twice cut once". If you bringing home the wrong type it can really jerk your chain. I recommend that you try to find the same model, or design with the same height (from the top) of the drainage hole and note where the power connection is located because that's what's needed for reconnection (this can be a deal breaker if you are not prepared). This is especially true if this is a dual sink setup...

NuWave Mini White Infrared Oven - Model 20102

Great item for small batch cooking
First, I like its efficiency. Like that I can see how the cooking is coming along. I find it great to cook small quantities of food. It's tough to find cooking items for cooking for one or two persons. I cooked up a half of a package of potato gnocchi in olive oil and a little butter. You could watch the top of the gnocchi browning. I used cottage cheese as a topping but found the cottage cheese too sweet. Will try to purchase some dry cottage cheese or use farmers' cheese the next time. Again, if you don't want to heat up the large stove in your kitchen, this will work well. I also love my George Forman oven that I had to buy on eBay. (It's no longer sold in the stores. It,, too, roasts small quantities.) It's important to eat healthy and I'm no longer appreciating some of the frozen boxed foods. Currently I'm making a cauliflower soup and also a vegetable stew in the appetizer crock pots I bought through Amazon, I believe. With all these products, it's fun to be...

Sienna AquaPRO Steam Mop with Adjustable Steam Control

Does the job (just bought it)
This review is for the Sienna Aqua Pro Steam Mop with Adjustable Steam Control, Model #3618.

Just bought it, so this review cannot address durability.

The mop is easy to assemble; just one screw (provided) to connect the mop head to the body, and a push of a button to extend the handle. The water tank is easily removed and filled, and snaps back in without a problem.

The pad attaches with a drawstring which actually fits quite well, and I prefer it to my last mop which had pads that attached with Velcro.

The instructions say hold the trigger down 30 seconds to let the steam work its way through the system; I found it took a bit longer than that but eventually, the mop started producing steam.

So far I have only used it on the textured vinyl kitchen floor; the steam mop cleans the floor extremely well.

I only wish it came with more than two mop pads. They are reusable and hopefully will last awhile, but both are in the...

Dynamo Pro Steam Mop
This mop is too heavy so I returned it and ordered Eurikc Pro which makes the impression that it is the best.

Kitchenaid Ksc6222ss Stainless Steel 6 Qt. Slow Cooker with Flip Lid New High Quality Product Fast Shipping Ship Worldwide

KitchenAid KSC6222SS 6 Qt. Slow Cooker with Flip Lid
I would love to be able to give 5 stars to the KitchenAid KSC6222SS 6 Qt. Slow Cooker with Flip Lid, but I am afraid it will ultimately deserve three stars. Until I have had a chance to thoroughly test it out, I will compromise and give it 4 stars.

I purchased this slow cooker as a replacement for my 15 year-old 3 Qt. CrockPot, which had performed admirably, but was too small for many dishes. Also, I had some concern about the health safety of its plastic lid. The KitchenAid's 6 Qt. size, glass lid, ceramic insert, and attractive stainless steel finish were all positives for me.

After trying out my first dish -- cheeseburger soup with diced potatoes and carrots -- here are my observations about the Kitchenaid Slow Cooker:

-- The controls are easy to figure out
-- The ceramic pot tended to wiggle in the metal base
-- The lid has a rubber (or plastic?) strip that seems to keep steam from escaping when cooking; however, this strip came off...

Excellent Slow Cooker
Used this to cook a batch of pulled pork for a gathering at my home. It was great to have the flip top lid to keep the food covered, warm and yet allow for serving. The oval shape wasn't taking up a lot of room on the serving table. I like the continuous keep warm feature after the food finishes cooking. Stainless Steel is a great look. Overall, I'd buy again.

Fulfills all my crock-pot cooking needs.
Upon challenging myself to cooking 1 meal at home every week, I knew that I would need a better crock-pot than the one I had. My old Rival was a great one, but reading reviews, I wanted one with a digital control system.
I finally decided on the Kitchen Aid with the flip lid (and yes, the flip lid was definitely a deciding factor for my purchase...).

First of all, for those who care how your crock-pot looks sitting on the kitchen counter, this one is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye :) Nice and shiny and elegant, and despite it's size, does not really take up a lot of space.

Now, for the cooking. I have used it faithfully now for maybe 2 months and I love it. Love love love. My very favorite function is the fact that after cooking for the amount of time you set it to, it automatically flicks to "warm" for 4 hours (or less if you need it), eliminating the need for me to rush home to flick off the crock-pot and also eliminates the need for relying on...

Chef's Choice Non Serrated Blade for Model 630, 632 Food Slicer

It is really nice, but...
I purchased this non-serrated blade upon purchasing the slicer because I read the other reviews saying you would need this blade if you wanted to be able to slice the meat really, really thin.

Well, since I bought the slicer in order to be able to make carpaccios at home, I immediately purchased this blade as well. When the slicer arrived (with the regular, serrated blade), I didn't want to wait for the additional blade before using it, so I proceeded to use the slicer with the provided blade.

I had the eye of round trimmed and frozen, then moved it for a few hours to the bottom drawer of the fridge so it was still frozen, but not so hard. When I cut it with the slicer, I was able to slice the beef as thin as I needed it. I have also been able to slice roast beef in very nice and thin slices (not as thin as the carpaccio) using the serrated blade, as long as it had been left in the fridge overnight prior to being sliced.

So, my conclusion is that the...

If your Buying A Chef's Choice Slicer you need This.
I purchased a Chef's Choice Slicer that came with a serrated edge blade which was good for slicing bread but horrible on meat and cheese. If your thinking of buying one then you need this blade. My wife likes her cold cuts sliced paper thin and this combo of blade and slicer gets pretty close to a commercial quailty.

only way super thin cuts possible
Like other reviewer, my wife likes her Mongolian Hot-pot meats super-duper thin and this is the only way to accomplish that. It is necessary to freeze the meat and then thaw it just a little bit and start slicing while it's just a little less than rock-solid. Lamb & beef cuts thinner than paper are very doable this way.

Only negative really is that the there is no easy way provided to safely store the spare blade - both are sharp as heck. I just kept the original plastic wrapper this one shipped in but it's less than ideal.

Omega 9000 Juicer

THIS IS THE ONE
I'm amazed that there aren't hundreds of five-star reviews for this item. I shopped for a juicer for MONTHS, literally. After painstaking research - including reading dozens of reviews like this one, and looking at Consumer Reports - I finally decided on the Omega 9000. I wanted the model in black, but shopped at several different websites and couldn't find a black one. So I settled for the white model. That's the only negative comment I can make about the entire transaction. Not only is the juicer easy to use and compact (despite what another Amazon reviewer says, it's much smaller than comparable machines), it's also backed with a 15-year warranty and excellent service. I had a question in my first week of using the Omega and called the number on the instruction booklet: no recorded message, just a friendly, helpful person. As far as the actual operation/performance of the machine, I couldn't be happier. All stainless steel, it's beautiful and sturdy, and built to last that...

good juicer for a great price
The Omega 9000 juicer is a good juicer.

I've had an Acme 6001 for years and it has served me well. When it was time for a new juicer, I bought the Breville since it was such a "hot item".

Big mistake! Unless you want it to "keep up with the Joneses" and think having a big shiny juicer in your kitchen is more about prestige and less about health, then the Breville is for you.

Back to the Omega. The Omega 9000 makes pulp feel like a shirt. It's pretty dry.

Big up to Amazon & HealthNut for it's speedy pick up of the Breville and quick delivery of the Omega (2 days), which is actually well-designed and has good yield.

Now for the cons: carrot residue sticks to the bottom and along the periphery of the basket which goes inside the bowl. It took me a long time to scrub off. Maybe a filter will help, but I never had that problem with the Acme and it was built many moons ago in the 90's. If it wasn't for that design flaw, I'd give it...

Filters are the answer
This is a great juicer and will last forever. I bought mine about 15 years ago. This is a work horse. I have found filters do the trick. Similar to the Acme but at this point from my research initially and now from experience has better parts. I have replaced the cutting blade once which is good idea to do.....replaced after about 8 years of use...about 20 dollars.
In the beginning I thought filters would somehow diminish the juice in some way and didn't want to buy an extra item. Omega puts out some unbleached (200 pack) for about 12 bucks. It doesn't filter out anything (perhaps a little pulp and therefor thinner in texture) but makes it so all residue is put together in one clump.I have also read that the soft stuff with more water like citrus, cucumber, tomato etc. can get imbalanced in the basket and is not recommended if using the filters. The most efficient use for this type of juicer is the harder stuff. I use cukes and other watery veggies but even out things by putting...

Panasonic MK-G20NR Meat Grinder

Great Meat Grinder
We are originally from Eastern Europe and meat is a huge part of our diet. Initially we used hand powered meat grinder and when I say use I mean on a weekly basis. Finally we got tired of it and decided to upgrade our kitchen equipment.

We tried 4 different electric meat grinders before we got to this one from Krups to Kitchen Aid but they all had problems till we got to this one. Then finally we got this one and o boy it was great. We use it on a weekly basis and it holds its own against any meat we through into it. Cleaning is a snap and the whole experience is awesome.

Several points to consider when buying electric meat grinder:

1) Anything less than 550 watts will get clogged by meat fibers.

2) If blades are not Stainless still they WILL rust.

3) This machine has all the attachments you'll ever need in a meat grinders and they are great quality and will last you a lifetime without rusting

P.S. This machine is so...

Great powerful machine!
I've had this machine for about 6 months now, and I love it. It's very powerful, grinds meat in seconds. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a meat grinder.

National MK-G20NR Meat Grinder, Nation Brand
I ordered this grinder on 12/15/03 and it came on 12/22/03 with free ground shipping. Today,12/28/03, I started to use it the first time, it's perfect, I have no complain to this machine. This grinder was made from Japan. I thinked if you want to use it the first time you have to clean it properly before using if not the food will stick into it. I mixed shrimps, beefs and porks. It run perfect. Don't hesitate to buy this grinder. To generate some different food in the family you have to have one. I strongly recommend this machine. It's very good, the motor is strong enough to grind any food.My wife like it so much.

CHI HOME 2 in 1 Steam Vac, Electric Blue

Impressive...very impressive!!!
This machine is amazing! I did a ton of research online before purchasing. There were only 2 other machines in this price range that vacuums and steams simultaneously. I wanted a machine that does both at the same time because I am a stay at home mom that runs my own childrens clothing line and I seriously did not have time to do one and then the other. This machine does it all at once, vacuumed everything off of my floors, and steamed every bit of dirt and caked on food flawlessly. I am very hard to impress when it comes to anything cleaning my floors...before the machine I got on my hands and knees and did it myself. Never again! Very happy! I have clean floors!!!

A First Impression
I just got this in the mail today and wanted to write a review about it to help others. I actually bought mine off a daily deal site and took a risk because there really aren't that many reviews out there for it.

My initial impression is that I like it. I'm using it in a small home, with a family of 3, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. The surface I'm using it on is approx. 600 sq. ft. I'll break down the pros and cons of it.

Pros:

- Medium weight, not too heavy.
- STRONG suction, at least stronger than I expected. It does not need to be on top of the dirt to catch it. I saw it suck up something from at most about 2 inches from the head.
- Using both steam and vacuum work quite well together.
- Easy to use, take necessary parts out (such as canister, pad), and clean.
- The steam takes about 5 minutes to get going. While that's working on starting up, I start just vacuuming around to pick up the worst stuff before it starts steaming...

Perfect vacuum for messy toddlers
I bought this vacuum so I wouldn't have to clean my floor by hand after every time my daughter ate. I love it! It's really easy to use and cleans really well. I have a dark hard wood floors that look dirty really easily. This vacuum cleans them great and leaves them nice and shiny (not streaky or hazy). I was a little worried about buying the vacuum because it is a new product, but so far I haven't been disappointed. I also love that I can choose to just vacuum, just steam clean or do both at the same time.
