i have attempted to find a viable indoor grill for several years; unfortunately for me, the search has been conducted by purchasing unsatisfactory products.....less expensive electric grills, the finest cast iron grilling pans - the gamut failed because of inadequate heat or tendency to stick or both.......then, the elation of zojirushi - the heating element is much heavier and thicker than other electrics, and the resulting searing and grilling power approximates natural open pit cooking - and nothing sticks - better engineering is worth the extra money.

This is a fantastic indoor grill! It sets up easily, cooks meats, seafood, chicken and veggies with nice grill marks and flavor, no problem.
As for the complaints I've read regarding the cleaning issue, I did a little bit of research and found out that by following the enclosed instructions (read it folks....it's all in there and online, too) and using a DRY paper towel to wipe the grill off immediately after removing the food, the burnt sauces and charred-on bits of carbon just wipe off effortlessly! It's really better than the other "top selling" brands I've tried over the past 20 years!
To clean the grill, I folded the paper towel (with a small towel on top for heat protection) and was very surprised at how quickly everything slid off. I've found that by wiping the grill between "sets" of meats (as in barbecuing kalbi, yakitori and then seafood), nothing gets contaminated with unsavory burnt bits, but has its own freshly grilled flavor.
