Waste King 1032HE disposer switch
Be certain to read the hole requirements for the on/off button. Even after informing my countertop installer of the 3/8" hole requirement, he still drilled a 1 1/4" faucet size hole. The button will simply fall through a standard size faucet hole. Also, the button is cheaply made and looks plasticy. I was expecting a metal capacitive touch button. What you get is a thin plastic that is slightly depressed to turn the disposal on/off. Overall, it works as designed. Aesthetically, not what I was looking for. Get the Insinkerator STS-SO instead.

I purchased the Waste King model #1032-HE remote switch as it takes much less room for installation than the air switches that are more typically used. The switch is plastic and just doesn't look sufficiently upscale for $4k granite countertops. And speaking of granite, the box indicates "Perfect for granite..." but the switch has a shaft which will only accommodate a 5/8" thick countertop. As the switch is not long enough for the depth of granite a kluged extension is provided. The shaft extension screws onto a smaller threaded shaft (1/4" dia.) at the bottom of the larger shaft. The smaller shaft was designed to only hold the tightening nut for the fiber optic cable and I do not believe this is suitable engineering - the switch is completely plastic. The adapter was probably done in this manner because the thickness of solid surface tops was not considered in the initial design and for the need to keep the 3/8" overall shaft size.
I've installed the fiber optic...
Surprisingly the best feature of my kitchen Renovation
I absolutely love the size and ergonomic of this switch. It was recommended by a home expert friend when comparing to the in-sink-erator switch and hands down this switch is miles better. From the slim design to the much easier to push switch, I could not be more pleased with my purchase/decision. I also remember thinking why would I care that it has a 20 second auto off feature. Well until you have it you don't know what you are missing! It is great to have a timed stop as I know everything has been cleared out and the disposer is clean and free of debris. Highly recommend over flipping a wall switch!
