Great design! Bought Two!
We bought this model at Sam's Club on clearance for $25, but it's the exact same one shown here. We returned our Mr. Coffee maker because it didn't brew hot enough and dribbled when you poured from the carafe. But like another reviewer stated, this design is brilliant!
THE CARAFE: I love the way the carafe feels so sturdy and balanced in my hand and I don't have to hold the lid down with my free hand just for good measure when pouring as I've needed to with other coffee carafes. This one has nice bulk at the hinge where you rest your thumb and gives good leverage for pouring coffee one handed. It doesn't dribble or drip when pouring and that is a huge plus for me!
THE COFFEE: So far, the coffee that it makes tastes great.
THE WORKINGS: This maker has a swing arm water spout above the filter basket. I've never seen that before in a coffee maker, and I'm not sure what the reasoning is. Maybe so it doesn't sputter and spat at you when you open the lid...
Buy Now Before They Stop Making Them
After brewing one of the best pots of coffee I've had in a *very* long time I immediately bought two more of these, just in case I do something stupid and break the first one.
This not only makes the best cup of coffee I've ever had, the lid on the pot DOES NOT DRIBBLE all over the place while you're filling the coffee maker or pouring the coffee into a cup or a thermos. Hard to believe that somebody FINALLY figured this out, but there ya go! If you're tired of getting water and coffee all over the countertop every time you tilt the pot, then you need to buy one of these.
Why the "buy now" in the title of the review? Because you just *KNOW* that something this good won't last. Somebody in management will figure out a way to screw it up, or they'll stop selling it altogether. "A coffee pot that doesn't dribble scalding hot coffee all over the customer? We can't have that! Pull it off the market immediately!"
Broke after 3 months.
I ordered this product in February and by April it had stopped working. Dealing with Wolfgang Puck customer service has been a nightmare. I spoke with one guy named Brian who simply told me to cut off the power cord, mail it in with my proof of purchase and it would be replaced. Several weeks later, I called back and spoke with Jessica, who stated that I was supposed to have mailed in a "shipping fee" of $12.95. She also stated my package had been sitting in their mailbox and had not been "processed", even though it had been there for over a week. She finally sent my order through to the warehouse and then told me it would still take up to 6 weeks for me to get a new coffee pot. Imagine no coffee for over 2 months...
