Smooth
only had this grinder for about a week now. the thread are super smooth and so is the grinding. I thought that teeth on the top lid would be plastic like the clear window, but they were actually aluminum and seem to be pretty securely attached. it also came with a little guitar pick for a scoop. a little tough to fit my fat fingers deep down in it but nice to have the extra storage. definitely not air tight.
